Kevin Nash Explains Why WWE Could Never Turn John Cena Heel Before

– During a recent edition of Kliq This, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash discussed John Cena turning heel and why it was impossible for WWE to turn Cena heel. He also discussed an experience of watching John Cena live and how divided fans were over his babyface character.
Kevin Nash recalled on watching Cena perform live in 2013, stating (via WrestlingInc.com), “This is when they would do that, ‘Let’s go Cena! Cena sucks!’ thing, and it was at its f**king peak. I just said, ‘God, I’ve never in my life seen anything like this.'”
Nash explained that Cena was still so popular with his merchandise sales and Make-A-Wish events, WWE couldn’t turn him heel as a character. He continued, “John sold so much merchandise and did so much Make-A-Wish that it was impossible to turn him heel.”
John Cena is currently scheduled to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41 next month. The premium live event will take place on April 19-20 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. It will stream live on Peacock in the US and On Netflix internationally.
