With the in-ring career of WWE legend John Cena coming to a close last weekend, many stars throughout the industry are weighing in with their respects to the former 17-time WWE World Champion. WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has also chimed in on John Cena with a post on Threads.
Nash shared a photo of a match he worked with Cena at a WWE live event in 2011, and the photo shows Nash delivering a knee strike to Cena. The former WWE Champion also joked that his “quad exploded on impact.”
Kevin Nash wrote of his match with John Cena, “I didn’t want to be the only wrestler who @johncena was ever in the ring with not to post a photo of me having the upper hand for one moment. Brilliant career and a fantastic human being. The smile made it the most beautiful moment in wrestling history. Thank you John. Respect t…..and yes my quad exploded on impact.”
As previously noted, John Cena lost his last match against Gunther last weekend at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Gunther won the match via submission after Cena tapped out.
After the match, the entire WWE locker room went to the ringside area, showing Cena their respect as he took his final bows. Cena removed his gear and left in the ring before saluting the fans and walking out of the arena.
