Kevin Nash Questions If the Montreal Screwjob Wasn’t a Work
– During a recent edition of the Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash and co-host Sean Oliver once again discussed the now-legendary Montreal Screwjob at WWE Survivor Series 1997. Nash noted how he’s not 100% sure that it wasn’t a worked finish. Below are some highlights (via Fightful):
Kevin Nash on whether the Montreal Screwjob was a “work”: “I don’t think any of us are 100% sure that it wasn’t…that it’s not a work.”
Nash on Sean Oliver’s idea to book Bret Hart vs. The Undertaker instead: “Yeah, but you have to realize, that’s booking to get around Bret, not booking ‘Taker…if you’re sitting in a creative conversation with one other person, and you look in the locker room and say, ‘Which person, especially their gimmick, does not need nor really fit with the world title?’ ‘Taker. He’s the dead guy. ‘Taker’s just ‘Taker, man.”
The Montreal Screwjob has been documented in multiple documentaries, including Hitman Hart: Wrestling With Shadows, Dark Side of the Ring, and Mr. McMahon.
