The Latest on WWE Comp Ticket Cutbacks

On his podcast, Rikishi recently complained that he could no longer get comp tickets to WWE events. This despite the fact that he’s not only a Hall of Famer, but also the father of three active main eventers in the Usos and Solo. Numerous talents have been frustrated with the execution of the new policy, which involves making a request, getting it approved, and then trying to score seats by a secret link. The policy goes along with massive ticket price raises across the board, which has not been a popular move with the talent.
According to Fightful Select, one solution for the talent has been to make comp ticket allotments part of their contracts. That will obviously favor the more popular and valuable talent, but so long as at least one of Rikishi’s kids can get the deal, he might be okay. One might even suggest that the possibilities for rubbing elbows with Hall of Famers in the crowd could be an added value that’s hard to quantify.
Even with pricing lower-income families out of the building, WWE continues to set record gates at all their PLEs. Having them internationally also allows for a higher ticket, since the events are much rarer overseas.
Meanwhile, AEW is quite happy to keep tickets affordable.
