In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Linda Hogan, the ex-wife of Hulk Hogan, criticized the Television Academy for not including the Hulkster in their ‘in memoriam’ segment. Hulk passed away back in July at the age of 71 due to cardiac arrest. Here are highlights:
On if Hulk wasn’t included due to his politics: “I can’t prove that. It’s just a guess, but they should have named him!!”
On leaving Hulk out of the segment: “WWF at the top of the hour when he came on to wrestle…[Hulk] had the highest ratings on NBC, beating all other competition for that time slot for years! I really can’t tell you why they left him out…just a guess considering the way he was treated at his last appearance in LA.”
