Mercedes Mone Reportedly Happy In AEW

Mercedes Mone is quite happy with her position within AEW, according to a new report. Mone has been with AEW for about two years now, and a fan asked a question to Sean Ross Sapp in the Fightful Select Answers Q&A about whether he sees her staying with AEW or leaving when her contract expires.

Sapp made it clear that he doesn’t pretend to know Mone’s motives, but said that Mone is “very happy financially, creatively and artistically” from what he has heard. He said that he expects Mone and Jon Moxley to stay with AEW, as both left WWE on difficult terms. He also made a point to say that is his belief and added that Mone was in talks with WWE up until late 2023 before she eventually signed with AEW, so it is not impossible that she moves.

The CEO has had a strong run in AEW, where she reigned as AEW TBS Champion for a record 584 days. She lost the title to Willow Nightingale at AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash. Mone announced on last week’s AEW Collision that she was “sick and tired of the disrespect” she receives from the roster and is “taking a break from AEW to show you why and how I elevated, and good luck without me.”
