– As previously reported, WWE canceled its previously scheduled NXT TV taping for tonight in Tampa, Florida at the Yuengling Center, where WWE just completed a run of several shows over the weekend, including SmackDown, Saturday Night’s Main Event, and NXT Battleground. Instead, tonight’s NXT will be held back at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Dave Meltzer had more details on the cancelled NXT tapings on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio.
According to Meltzer, it was low ticket sales that caused the move for tonight’s NXT, with WWE only being able to sell a reported 1,700 tickets for tonight’s canceled taping. Meltzer stated, “They figured it would be better to have 200 people in that small building — it would be a lot better than running in a big building, and the optics wouldn’t look so good.”
Tonight’s WWE NXT TV at the Performance Center will air live on The CW starting at 8:00 pm EST.
