NJPW World Names Kenny Omega vs. Gabe Kidd Its Most Viewed Match Of 2025

Kenny Omega and Gabe Kidd’s match at Wrestle Dynasty was the most viewed match on NJPW World in 2025, according to the service. NJPW World announced on Wednesday that the match, which was Omega’s return to the ring after over a year, topped the list of most viewed bouts on the streaming service.

NJPW World revealed the top three most watched matches on Twitter. The list is as follows:

1. Kenny Omega vs. Gabe Kidd (Wrestle Dynasty 2025)
2. IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match: Hirooki Goto vs. Zack Sabre Jr. (New Beginning In Osaka)
3. IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match: Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Ricochet (Wrestle Dynasty 2025)

Omega defeated Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty, which took place on January 5th. The match was Omega’s first since December of 2023, as his diverticulitis kept him out of the ring for all of 2024.

The match at New Beginning In Osaka saw Goto defeat Sabre to claim the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Sabre retained the title against Ricochet at Wrestle Dynasty 2025.

NJPW returns to the US on February 27 for NJPW The New Beginning USA. IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji has been confirmed for that show. It takes place at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, New Jersey.
