WWE has been aggressive in taking down clips from streamers on social media of late, and a new report has a bit of detail on the matter. The company has received attention over the last week for an aggresive campain to issue copyright strikes to content creators, particularly reaction channels, which has led to many accounts being banned.

Fightful Select noted in this week’s Debunkathon news report that the recent spike is the most expansive takedown that has been done on WWE videos created by streamers and content creators. The report notes that the takedowns are being done via bots courtesy of a company called StreamEnforcement. StreamEnforcement describes itself as providing “a holistic and cost-effective content protection strategy tailored towards our partners’ unique needs” on their website.

The restriction and takedown of content creators has received heavy criticism online, particularly due to how WWE often uses clips from content creators — particularly reaction channels — for recap segments on TV.

WWE has not publicly commented on the matter.
