Oba Femi was referred to by Paul Heyman as the future of the business, something he recently reflected on. Femi remains the hottest free agent in WWE, having not yet chosen a brand between Raw or Smackdown. He is set for his biggest main roster test yet when he battles Rusev on next week’s WWE Raw.

Femi spoke with the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast at Creator Fest and was told that Heyman called him the future of pro wrestling at the event. Femi said that kind of praise is “reassuring” in letting him know he’s going down the right road. You can see highlights below:

On Getting Praise From Paul Heyman & Others:

“I mean for me, it’s very reassuring. Lets me know that I’m on the right track. Also speaks to the body of work I’ve put in. Like, all the fan support that I’m getting right now, it’s not because of what I did on the main roster, let’s be real. Because there’s a whole other two years of NXT that happened, Tuesdays, you know? And that body of work was really good, and I was able to take that dominance and, bring that to the main roster. It just speaks to everything I’ve done, shows that the system works. NXT works, guys. So, yeah, very reassuring for me.”

On What Kind of Run He’s Looking To Have:

“I don’t know if I’m going to have exactly like a John Cena-type run. I’m still in the process of even finding out what kind of run I even want to have. You know, there’s the strong, dominant Brock Lesnar type and then there’s like the story-driven runs, like the Bloodline stuff. So I don’t know what my legacy will be yet, but at least I know what’s right. So with that going forward, we’ll see where the winds take us.”
