STARDOM Goddesses of Stardom Tag League Night 9

November 24th, 2025 | Iwaki City Gymnasium in Iwaki Fukushima | Attendance: 437

I’m falling behind a bit on this tournament and I have the Continental Classic starting as well. I’m also going on vacation this Sunday, so I’ll have some catching up to do when I return.

Red Goddesses Block: Akira Kurogane and Bozilla [4] vs. Blue Flame [4]

An interesting setup here. Akira and Bozilla are clearly the stronger duo but Ranna’s strikes make her someone who has a good strategy in place to combat that. Blue Flame took turns working over Akira to start. Ranna was really laying into her to the point where even Bozilla had a visceral reaction on the apron to one of the kicks. Of course, once Bozilla got the tag, things changed. She started throwing around both Hina and Ranna with the greatest of ease. Hina struggled to get anything going against Bozilla. Ranna fared better with her kicks but that didn’t last too long. They had to work together to send Bozilla over and out. Then, Blue Flame flubbed their finish due to awkward positioning before a Ranna kick ended Akira in 9:44. A solid start though it fizzled out late. [**½]

Red Goddesses Block: BMI2000 [6] vs. SaoriPoi [8]

Weird that this is going on second since it’s the tag champions against an undefeated team. The winner holds serve atop the block too. BMI2000 attacked before the bell, giving us the standard HATE tag formula. Brawling around the ring, throwing faces in chairs, etc. You know the drill by this point. They beat up on SaoriPoi for a bit, with the two finding hope spots for their rallies. The crowd loves them too, which helps. That said, there wasn’t much they could do with this formula. It’s so tired and BMI2000 matches tend to be a drag because of it. Their methodical pace makes sense but it’s not very entertaining to watch. SaoriPoi came close a few times late but some interference from Saya Kamitani and mist from Natsuko set up Ruaka to beat her with some German Suplexes in 12:10. You typically get so much more from SaoriPoi but HATE gonna do HATE things and drag them down. [**½]

Blue Goddesses Block: 02line [2] vs. Mega Skyscrapers [8]

HANAKO and Megan Bayne are now the only unbeaten team remaining. This was a good case of a big team against a speedy small duo. They played to those strengths and Megan Bayne continues to impress. Her against AZM was the highlight of the match, with AZM bumping well and Megan using her size expertly. She also destroyed Miyu with her Claymore. Like in the opener, the smaller team had to work together to get stuff going against their larger opponents. In a lot of ways, this was one-sided and I’m actually okay with that. Not every match needs to go 50/50. 02line got an opening when Megan and HANAKO collided and Miyu rolled up Megan for two. The Mega Skyscrapers used the Doomsday Device on Miyu to win in 6:59. That was short but sweet and entertaining. [***]

Blue Goddesses Block: Bloody Girls’ School [0] vs. Reiwa Tokyo Towers [4]

For those who don’t remember, Bloody Girls’ School is Suzu Suzuki and Rina Yamashita, who have forfeited a few matches due to Suzu being injured. They looked like they haven’t really missed a beat, going right into their stuff and putting a hurting on Reiwa Tokyo Towers. The faces rallied and this ended up working like a slugfest. Both teams were throwing shots and bringing some power based offense. This was one of my favorite outings for Rina, who I still don’t know a ton about. She and Ami were trading shots and had the best exchange of the contest. Lady C and Suzu tried to have a battle like that but it lacked intensity. The fight spilled outside down the stretch and Lady C managed to just get back into the ring, winning via countout in 11:34. A lackluster finish, though the match itself was solid. [***]

Blue Goddesses Block: Gorilla Trigger [8] vs. Sakurara [4]

Gorilla Trigger would tie Mega Skyscrapers atop the block with a win, though they have two losses. Sakurara basically needs to win to stay alive. There was an interesting story told here. Sakurara played the underdogs against a team that has showcased impressive power in the tournament. However, Gorilla Trigger being babyface made it a bit odd at times. The crowd wanted to cheer for both, so that was a weird atmosphere. That said, the action was good as Sakurara took a beating but kept coming back for more. They showed a lot of resilience. Being in control allowed Bea to revert back to her old heel ways and she was rather comfortable there. It felt like they were just about to hit the next gear, yet it never ended up happening. This plateaued right when it should’ve taken that next step. Sayaka countered Bea’s finisher and rolled her up to steal this in 13:38. A good main event that never hit that next level. [***¼]

Another one of those shows that you tend to get in the middle of a long tournament. You don’t get the best efforts but it was pretty solid across the board.
