Paul Heyman Says On WWE: Unreal That They Have Something ‘Really Special’ With Penta

Paul Heyman is a big believer in Penta, noting in the new season of WWE: Unreal that the company has something “really special” in the luchador. The Mexican wrestling star has been a fan favorite to WWE fans since he debuted for the company in January of last year. Since that time, he has feuded with some of the company’s top stars, including Bron Breakker and Logan Paul. He also went 42 minutes in the men’s Royal Rumble last year, the longest of any talent in the match.
On the third episode of WWE: Unreal, Heyman spoke about Penta following the latter’s performance in the men’s Money In The Bank ladder match. He praised Penta’s connection to the fans and noted that he’s over on a level that goes beyond the initial “star pop.”
“I know we said this in advance. I know we said this once he debuted. We got something with this f**king Penta,” Heyman said (per Fightful). “Here are two things over time that you learn. One, you listen to the star pop when they come out. But you understand it’s just a star pop. But in the match, when they’re selling, and they start to come up, what’s the reaction? ‘Cause that’s when they have to care about you, to make your comeback. It’s that 30 seconds that you’re selling and you’re coming up, it’s like, ‘Goddamn it, I need to do this, I need to,’ and they rally behind you.”
Heyman continued, “Penta is over like a motherf**ker. When he made the move for the ladder, they wanted him to win so bad. I’m telling you, we’ve got something really special with him.”
Penta is currently allied with Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee in matches against The Vision.
