Penelope Ford Cleared for In-Ring Return

Considering how often injuries put performers on the shelf for quite a while, the news is good for AEW’s Penelope Ford. After only three months out, she’s cleared to return.
Ford sustained a UCL tear on an episode of AEW Dynamite. In the midst of a four-team battle, she attempted a moonsault to the outside and landed badly. Her subsequent absence meant that Megan Bayne had to get a new tag team partner for the title tournament, and joined forces with Marina Shafir instead to form a duo dubbed the MegaProblems.
The duo would lose to the Timeless Love Bombs (Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa), who went down to the Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale) in the tournament finals.
Now, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, “Penelope Ford has been cleared after being out for three months.”
Ford hasn’t had great health luck in her career, with a long hiatus in 2022 following a miscarriage, tumor surgery, and other injuries. After that, this rebound feels especially quick and relatively minor.
Will she and Bayne still be besties when she returns, or will it be a case of MegaProblems all around? Don’t expect to wait long to find out.
