Rey Mysterio Set to Wrestle at The NJPW G1 Climax 28 Finals Event

NJPW announced last night that Rey Mysterio will be wrestling at Budokan Hall on August 12 as part of the final show for this year’s G1 Climax 28 finals event. His opponent was not officially announced. Mysterio was originally supposed to debut for NJPW in a singles match against Liger at Strong Style Evolved in Long Beach, California this past March, but a bicep injury kept him off the show. He did compete for NJPW at last month’s Dominion event in Osaka. He teamed with Hiroshi Tanahashi & Jushin Thunder Liger in a losing effort against Cody Rhodes, Marty Scurll, & Hangman Page.
