Ric Flair Claims He’s Not Suing His Son Over Alleged Use of ‘Flair’ Trademark

As previously reported, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair made a legal threat on social media, claiming that someone that he is close to is infringing on his trademark for “Flair.” Although Flair did not explicitly mention who he was speaking about, it appeared he was referencing “Green Flair,” the name of a recycling company attached to the LinkedIn profile of his son, David Fliehr.
Flair later deleted the social media posts on the matter. He made another one earlier this morning (h/t F4WOnline.com), where he clarified that he’s not suing David. He also told his son to try to stand on his own two feet and asked him not to sell one of his robes.
Ric Flair wrote, “I’m Obviously Not Suing My Son. Just Reminding Him That You Can’t Have The Best Of Both Worlds! Use Your God-Given Name, Fliehr, Which Isn’t Worth A Cup Of Coffee. Or Your Wife’s Name, Who Has Had 3 Generations Of Success. Also, Please Don’t Sell My Robes That I Let You Use During Your Career As You Have Already Sold One. You’re 47 Years Old… Now Stand On Your Own Two Feet Please.”
Flair’s latest comments about not suing his son have also since been deleted. David Fliehr also had a run in WCW from 1999 through 2001, where he became a WCW US Champion and WCW Tag Team Champion.
