Ric Flair took to social media to respond to Hulk Hogan’s widow denying the late WWE icon died by “street drugs.” As noted yesterday, Sky Daily told TMZ that Flair’s claims of Hogan being killed by street drugs “didn’t happen at all.” She also denied that Flair had spoken with Hogan the day before he died, which Flair had also claimed.
Flair made the initial comments on a podcast, saying that Hogan procured “street drugs” because his doctors stopped prescribing him pain medication. He initially posted to Twitter clarifying his comments but not backing off of them before Sky spoke with TMZ.
Flair posted to his Twitter account on Monday night to publicly respond to Sky, writing:
“Okay Sky! I got bad information according to you. I should have never mentioned it. I have known Hogan since 1979. Let’s just move past this and concentrate on his legacy. Period, end of story. Let’s PRESERVE HIS LEGACY rather than dwell on any negative energy. I repeat- Hulkamania forever!”
The TMZ report had noted that two other members of Hogan’s family denied Flair’s claims. The report said that they weren’t angry at Flair and just believed he was misinformed or misunderstood.
Hogan passed away in July at the age of 71 due to cardiac arrest.
