Ricky Saints Opens Up About What’s Next For Him in NXT After Becoming Champion

WWE NXT Champion Ricky Saints has discussed his future goals following the top title victory. Since joining WWE from AEW earlier this year, Saints has made rapid progress, winning both the North American Championship and the NXT Championship in a short time.

In a recent interview with The Five Count, Saints revealed that his next objective is to win the NXT Tag Team Championship before going to the main roster. Securing that title would make him a Triple Crown Champion in NXT. If he manages to do this, he will be the third person to join the list after Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole.

Saints spoke about his determination to represent NXT at the highest level and keep the brand at the forefront of professional wrestling. He emphasized that his focus remains on being the best possible NXT Champion while continuing to build his reputation within WWE (via Wrestling Inc).

“I would love to somehow win the NXT Tag Team Championships and become that Triple Crown champ there. But I think right now the focus is on being the best NXT champion that I can be, especially within this new era and making sure that this place is still the hottest place it was from the day that I came in.”

When discussing potential dream opponents, Saints mentioned Seth Rollins, Dominik Mysterio, Carmelo Hayes, and Cody Rhodes. His interest in facing top-tier talent reflects his confidence and ambition to compete with WWE’s most established names, including a potential rematch with Rhodes from their AEW days.

“Seth Rollins is one name. Obviously, getting my rematch against Cody [Rhodes] has to happen for sure. Dominik Mysterio’s another one, Carmelo Hayes, those types of people … there are people that I’m like intrigued by in terms of wrestling, but I never do a list just because I don’t want to get mad if it never happens.”

Saints is scheduled to defend his championship in a Last Man Standing Match against Trick Williams on this week’s episode of NXT.
