Ricky Saints Earns United States Title Match On WWE Smackdown

Ricky Saints has a WWE United States Championship match in his future by virtue of a #1 contenders match win on WWE Smackdown. Saints picked up a win over Carmelo Hayes on Friday’s show to punch his ticket to WWE Night of Champions.

The nearly 15-minute match saw a turnbuckle pad get pulled off late in the match. Hayes ended up getting crotched on the exposed turnbuckle. He battled back and hit a First 48, but when he went for the cover Saints kicked him backward and he hit the exposed metal on the back of his head. Saints picked up the pin on the knocked-out Saints to win the match and the title shot.

You can see a clip from the finish of the match below. Saints will now battle Trick Williams for the WWE United States Championship at WWE Night Of Champions, which takes place on June 27th from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
