Backstage Update on Plans for Roman Reigns at WWE Survivor Series

Roman Reigns is currently in the midst of a feud with The Vision, building toward a potential confrontation with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. During today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an update on Roman Reigns’ status at WWE Survivor Series: War Games. According to Meltzer, Roman Reigns will reportedly be competing in the WarGames match, rather than a potential singles bout against Rollins at the premium live event.
Meltzer believes that WWE is building toward a Reigns vs. Rollins match, but he stated, “There’s no Roman Reigns/Seth Rollins match before, at the earliest, January, and I doubt January because they’ll both be in the Royal Rumble.” Meltzer instead predicted WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas as the likely destination for epic showdown between the former Shield stablemates. He continued, “I think it’s probably WrestleMania, just as a guess.”
Meltzer also noted that Reigns will be competing in the WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series in San Diego, rather than a singles bout. He stated, “He’s [Reigns] definitely doing the San Diego show, but he’s not in a singles match in San Diego. He’s in the WarGames…you know, unless they change.”
WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2025 takes place on Saturday, November 29 at Petco Park in San Diego, California. WWE has not yet announced the participants for the upcoming WarGames match, so it’s not yet confirmed if Roman Reigns will be in the match. The WWE premium live event will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
Romans Reigns will battle The Vision’s Bronson Reed in a Street Fight on Saturday, October 11 at WWE Crown Jewel Perth. The premium live event takes place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia and will be broadcast live on the ESPN App domestically and Netflix internationally.
