Scarlett Bordeaux did not get to wrestle much in WWE, and she thinks it’s because her character ran counter to the direction of the Women’s Revolution. Bordeaux was with WWE alongside Killer Kross from 2019 to 2021 and again from 2022 to 2025, when she and Kross left the company because they couldn’t come to an agreement on a new contract.

Despite that lengthy time and her experience wrestling on the indies, Scarlett worked less than 15 matches in WWE and only two that were broadcast, both of them mixed tag team matches on Smackdown. Scarlett has been vocal that she wanted to wrestle more in the company, and she spoke about it during her and Kross’ appearance on D-Von Dudley’s YouTube channel.

She noted that she felt her character ran too much against the grain of WWE’s direction for the Women’s Revolution, which was moving away from sexualized depictions of women. She said that she was told several times by a producer in NXT to cover up her cleavage before going out for segments with Kross. You can see the highlights below:

Scarlett On If WWE Was What She Expected:

“A lot of it, yes. I had a lot of friends that were producers and wrestlers that came in and out of there. I rode in the car with a lot of people from Ring of Honor. We would keep in touch afterwards, so they would tell me what was going on for years. Started Ring of Honor in 2012, so when people were starting to get signed, they would kind of relay back what’s going on. So I knew what to expect.

“But I did think that I was going to get a shot to wrestle on my own, just because the character I was doing right before that was very over, it was working very well.”

Kross On Scarlett’s Success:

“It was huge. I’m gonna say it because she won’t say it that way, it was huge. The viewership that it was getting online with her clips — and the viewership converts to monetization. She was making so much money for companies on the back end of their socials. People don’t even realize. Like it was… millions upon millions of views. For people who don’t have a point of reference, like if you were to — this is with a regular YouTube deal. If you were to get a million views on YouTube and your account is verified, that’s $10,000 that goes into the account. So, she had millions of views. And you know, this is — she was watched all over Latin America there.”

Scarlett On Her Character Running Against the Grain Of WWE’s Direction:

“I think they were pushing the Women’s Revolution in the way they were. And my character was the exact opposite of that. It was a throwback. It was a parody, ‘bring sexy back to wrestling.’ Because all the girls were trying to be serious like the guys. I’m like, ‘No, no. Like, let’s just be a hot chick. Like, bring back bra and panties matches.’ And no one was doing that at the time. No one had their asses out, everyone was — no one was doing it… and it pissed a lot of people off, including women in the business. But it’s funny, because now look where we are.

“It was a great heel character… but it was very much the opposite of what they were pushing. I remember they were like, ‘Women’s Evolution.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, bra and panties match!” So I don’t know, I think that’s probably why.”

Scarlett On Pitching The Concept In NXT:

“Absolutely… They were originally pitching for me to manage other people before he was signed. So they’re like, ‘No no, we think we want to go with this instead. We have a different idea.’ I won’t say who, but some of the producers every single time, like before going out there. They’d be like, ‘Can you just, ah, cover up the cleavage? Can you just pull that down?’ I’m like, ‘Okay, this is clearly not what we’re going for right now.'”
