Seth Rollins Explains Why He Hates Money In the Bank Matches On WWE: Unreal

Seth Rollins is not a fan of Money in the Bank matches, an opinion he explained in detail during the new season of WWE: Unreal. Rollins has seen his share of Money in the Bank bouts, having competed in them four times in his WWE career. Two of those four matches saw Rollins come out on top with the Money in the Bank briefcase in his hand, most recently at last year’s show. He used the Money in the Bank briefcase at WWE SummerSlam after faking a knee injury to cash in on CM Punk and win the World Heavyweight Championship.
Seth Rollins’ journey to SummerSlam is one of the main focuses of WWE: Unreal season two, and he spoke about the match concept in the third episode. Rollins talked about how the margin for error is so small in the gimmick match and that his control freak leanings make the match a struggle for him.
“Chris Park was on that match, we have great producers, but I hate a Money In The Bank match,” Rollins said (per Fightful). “I hate them. As a participant, I hate them. Cause it’s not just you and one other person and a referee. You’ve got all these ladders, so you add in the element of extreme danger.”
He continued, “Everybody’s gotta be on point. The timing, everything from a safety standpoint, a storytelling standpoint. I don’t know if you’ve realized this about me yet, but I’m a bit of a control freak, i like to have the reins. These types of matches, they’re like waterfalls. So when things start to go off a little bit, that is not ideal for me. “
WWE: Unreal season two is currently available to watch on Netflix.
