On the latest episode of Six Feet Under, Shawn Michaels reflected on the highly controversial DX vs. Brothers of Destruction tag team match from Crown Jewel 2018 in Saudi Arabia, a match that fans have widely criticized. You can check out some highlights below:
Michaels on the match not hurting his feelings: “It so doesn’t bother me. All right, I don’t care that it wasn’t — if that’s going to be the one out of the whatever, the 599 [matches] that went fantastic, uou put one blemish on it and that’s gonna — I could care less.”
Michaels on not letting the criticism get to him: “No one could badger me enough to make me feel bad about that. I’m sorry. Look, the wheels fell off, and then it got ugly.”
The Undertaker on the match: “I mean, it couldn’t have gone any worse. But now — obviously, it bothered us all that night, especially you, because you’re the one that had to make the decision… I mentioned it earlier to somebody. You coming back through the curtain, ‘Missed me by that much.’ I was like, ‘Well he doesn’t jump out as far as he used to jump out.’ Kane losing the mask, Paul ripped his pec. I mean, there was just — oh my gosh. You talk about a train wreck. Of any match you could ever think like, ‘Oh these guys could just mail this in.’ What, 170 years of experience? All top guys who at one point or another…”
Michaels on it being a fitting ending: “I can’t be a member of DX and not have that last match just be completely freaking bonkers.”
