As reported previously, WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie is currently dealing with a legitimate ankle injury, which has led to speculations about her future with the title.

In a recent Q&A session with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, a fan wondered if La Primera would be forced to vacate the championship in the coming days. Sapp clarified that, as of last week, there are no plans for Stephanie Vaquer to relinquish the championship.

Sapp added that creative plans for her next title defense are already in place, and it should happen “relatively soon.”

Vaquer’s real-life injury has been incorporated into a storyline by WWE, with The Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez repeatedly targeting her injured ankle in recent weeks.

The Women’s World Champion was last seen in action on the December 29, 2025, episode of Monday Night RAW, where she retained her gold against Rodriguez and Nikki Bella in a Triple Threat Match.

With Raquel not backing down in her pursuits to finally become World Champion, one can assume that she’d get another opportunity to challenge Stephanie Vaquer for the title in the coming weeks. Tonight’s RAW in Belfast, Northern Ireland, one can expect more clarity on the situation surrounding Vaquer and her next title defense.

Vaquer is on her way to becoming one of the most accomplished women’s wrestlers in WWE history as in addition to the current Women’s World Champion, she is also the 2025 WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Champion, a former one-time NXT Women’s Champion and one-time NXT Women’s North American Championship, the only woman to hold both titles simultaneously and successfully defend both titles on the same night. She’s had memorable matches with the likes of Iyo Sky, Tiffany Stratton, Nikki Bella, and others.
