Tay Melo is devastated after the events of last night’s three-hour special episode of AEW Dynamite and Collision.
The November 19 episode of Dynamite + Collision saw TayJay (Tay Melo and Anna Jay) compete against Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne in the first round of the ongoing AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament.
The heels emerged victorious after Marina Shafir’s Mother’s Milk submission hold forced Anna Jay to tap out.
Following the defeat, Tay Melo took to X to share an emotional post, recounting how she and Jay have been aiming for tag team gold for five years and admitting that losing in the first round of the tournament is hard to explain. She also expressed her gratitude to their well-wishers, adding that she is grateful for all the love TayJay has received.
Here’s what Tay Melo wrote:
“Tonight was hard. When the world shut down during Covid, Anna and I used to talk about one day competing for these tag belts. Five years later, that dream finally became real… and losing in the first round hurts in a way that’s hard to explain. We believed in this moment so much. We poured so much of ourselves into this team, into growing together, into giving everything every time we stepped in the ring. Sometimes things don’t go the way you hoped, even when your heart is all in. It is what it is. But I’m grateful for everyone who’s been on this journey with us and for all the love you’ve shown. Thank you for caring as much as we did. I love you, @annajay___!”
