The Demon Finn Balor Reigns Supreme at WrestleMania 42: Sunday, Wins Street Fight Against Dominik Mysterio

Michael Cole said it best, “The Demon has risen.” Dominik Mysterio faced the wrath of Finn Balor and his “Demon” persona tonight at WrestleMania 42: Sunday. Balor returned to his iconic alter-ego for the first time in three years, facing his rival and former stablemate in a Street Fight at the premium live event.

The match ran just over 10 minutes. Balor defeated the younger Mysterio after hitting him with the Coup de Grâce through a table. The wrestler has not won a match utilizing his Demon persona since 2019, when he defeated Andrade to retain the WWE Intercontinental Title at WWE Super ShowDown that year.

“The Demon” Finn Balor finally gained some much-needed payback after he was betrayed by his Judgment Day teammates. He also scored a much needed moral victory for his Demon persona, who we hadn’t seen since Balor’s loss to Edge in a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania 39 in 2023.
