The long-in-development wrestling video game, The Wrestling Code, appears to have hit a major roadblock. As noted by Fightful, the trademark for the planned game’s title, The Wrestling Code, was officially abandoned in late December 2025.
Per the listing on the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO), “Abandoned because no Statement of Use or Extension Request timely filed after Notice of Allowance was issued. To view all documents in this file, click on the Trademark Document Retrieval link at the top of this page.”
The planned video game notably had some big-name talent attached to it, announcing such major names for the roster, including WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, Raven, Jerry Lynn, WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, and more. Virtual Basement was taking sign-ups for beta testing per the latest update last year, but there’s been silence from the developers since that time.
Virtual Basement’s social media also hasn’t been updated since June 2025. The title of the game was first announced in August 2020.
