Tony Khan Labels Maya World As AEW’s Most Underrated Talent

Tony Khan is a big believer in Maya World, referring to her as the most underrated talent in AEW during a new interview. The AEW President appeared on Q93 for a new interview ahead of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, in which he was asked to name the company’s most underrated star.

Khan mentioned World, who is set to face Mercedes Mone at the PPV in the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament.

“Maya World has certainly taken everybody by surprise,” Khan said (per Fightful). “She reached the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, where she came in as an alternate and picked up two huge wins. She’s one victory away from reaching the biggest stage in wrestling, getting a world championship match at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium.”

Khan continued, “She has taken so many people by surprise, but I’m not surprised. She’s a great star and has been doing great things. She has had some great upset victories, and it would be the biggest win of her career if she can beat her idol, Mercedes Mone.”

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door takes place on Sunday from San Jose, California at the SAP Center and airs live on PPV.
