La Catalina has exited CMLL, and it looks like she’s already lander her next gig via new reports. As reported Catalina’s exit was announced by CMLL yesterday, with her exit from the promotion having taken place on April 1st.
Both Bodyslam+ and LuchaBlog report that Catalina is expected to be part of AAA Lucha Libre’s tapings on Saturday. The tapings are set to take place at Gimnasio Olimpico in Mexico City and will be the first tapings since AAA Rey de Reyes, which was aired over the past three weeks.
It was reported yesterday that Catalina was unhappy with her booking and being put in lower parts of the card as an extra or filler talent as of late. She had said she didn’t intend to renew their contract as there was nothing else for her to do in the company.
La Catalina was with WWE from 2019 through 2021 and worked as Carolina, then Katrina Cortez. She worked sparingly in NXT under the latter name and left the company in November of 2021.
AAA airs on Fox in Latin American and on YouTube in the US.
