Update on Thunder Rosa’s Contract Status

Thunder Rosa has recently been talking about how much she’d like to have a dual AEW and CMLL contract. It would put her in a very small circle of elite talents, including Claudio Castagnoli and Mistico, to be fully signed with both the American and Mexican major promotions. The promotions have a coworking relationship, so it’s only necessary to have one contract to work events for both, but being considered primary roster for both is a different level.
“It’s a big deal, it is such a big deal and it’s such an honor when they recognize you to be somebody to be part of their organization. Absolutely, it would be an honor,” is what she previously said. Now, the honor is coming true.
According to Fightful Select, the deal is all but done. Sources expect her to be offered a CMLL contract to run concurrently with her AEW deal. Said AEW deal is expected to expire some time next year, though the specific date is unknown.
Early in her career, Rosa was offered a referee job by WWE if she were willing to retire as an active wrestler. Should they ever express interest again, it’s likely to be for a significantly better offer now.
