We’re just three days away from the WWE Royal Rumble, and a new report has the latest on the possible Rumble statuses of Chris Jericho, Powerhouse Hobbs, Seth Rollins and more. The Rumble takes place on Saturday from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As always, the focus is on potential surprise appearances, and Fightful Select has reported a rundown of the statuses of several speculated stars from Jericho and Hobbs to Kevin Owens, Saraya, and more.
The names from the report that are confirmed or expected to be in Saudi Arabia for the Rumble weekend are LA Knight, Tiffany Stratton, and Sol Ruca. Knight has been scheduled for the Rumble for a while, while Stratton was reportedly scheduled for the Rumble as of earlier this week. Ruca was on advertisements for the Rumble in Saudi Arabia and is expected to be there for the show.
Those who are not currently likely or at least have mitigating circumstances saying otherwise are as follows:
* Chris Jericho is still, as of this writing, listed on the AEW roster page. As we’ve noted, AEW is very good about keeping their roster page updated in a timely manner. The site reports that a rumor of WWE trademarking the Fozzy track “Judas” is fake.
* The IInspiration are not reportedly planned for the Royal Rumble. Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee finished up with TNA earlier this month after the AMC premiere of Impact, and there has been interest from companies outside TNA but they are not currently planned for the Rumble.
* On the WWE injury front, Kevin Owens, Zoey Stark, Seth Rollins, and Michin are not expected for the Rumble. Owens was not cleared as of Saturday Night’s Main Event weekend, while Stark is still working on getting back from her ACL injury. Michin suffered an injury during the holiday tour and is not cleared to compete, nor did she travel to Saudi Arabia.
As for Rollins, we can never 100% believe him anymore after SummerSlam but he has claimed he is not yet ready to return. People in WWE did not expect him to be ready for the show.
The report also notes two others who are not confirmed one way or another. As noted, Powerhouse Hobbs has signed with WWE. Hobbs was not on the charter flight to Saudi Arabia with the rest of the talent, but WWE is bringing others over later. The report notes they would be “surprised” if Hobbs isn’t at least brought over.
And finally Saraya had her weekend suddenly become free after being scheduled a convention appearance. However, this is not a situation of Saraya cancelling the booking. Rather, the convention was moved back a week because the venue was double booked. Regardless, her weekend is free and while she was still in the US on Wednesday night, she is a possibility.
411 will have live coverage of the WWE Royal Rumble, which airs live on the ESPN App and Netflix internationally.
