Why I Love/Hate Wrestling 11.04.07: Internet Clips (Vol. 1: X-Division)
Instead of talking about my normal topics, I decided to peruse the internet to bring you some of the greatest matches out there. We have everything, ranging from Indy stuff to the more popularized stuff. This week I take a look at the X-Division, a division that has been put on the back burner and buried in several promos. Plus, there is no hate in this column! What more is there to say? Enjoy!
Why I Love Wrestling
Frankie Kazarian vs. Matt Bentley vs. Chris Sabin: The First Ultimate X
This match is the X-Division. If you ever needed somewhere to start in the X Division, it would be here or the Triple Threat between Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, and AJ Styles. This match is fast paced, innovate, and all around a fun match. A good showcase of talents and a great way to start this week.
Senshi vs. Chris Sabin
This match comes form my favorite TNA, or perhaps any, PPV, Bound for Glory. Senshi was the X-Division Champion being challenged by X-Division pioneer Chris Sabin. Senshi is absolutely brutal in his stiff shots and Chris Sabin rocks with his classic X-Division stuff. Both guys busted out new stuff and put on a great wrestling match. This is definitely one of my favorite X-Division matches ever.
Victory Road Ultimate X
This match was a total mess at time but was always fun, The match was wild, crazy, and full of action. The MVP was KAZ as he busted out some sweet spots. While some people may look down on this match since it was so cluttered and spotty, I think this match embodied exactly what the X-Division is all about. Plus, there was a return of XXX! Oh yeah!
Jay Lethal vs. Christopher Daniels
This is a recent match, coming from Bound for Glory 2007. This match, while it looked solid on paper, had some doubts. Many thought that with the way Lethal was being booked, the match would suffer. Instead, both men went out there and wrestled their hearts out, and the match flat out rocked. One of the best singles X-Division matches in recent history, and one of Lethal’s best, too.
Sorry about such a short column today but classes are getting harder and it is time to fill out college applications. And scholarships. Free money is free money, people. So hopefully you all enjoyed my look at the awesome X-Division. Next week I will return to my regular ways but I will always be scanning the web for more matches to feature in my Internet Clips editions. But until then, stay classy, 411Mania readers.
