WWE Alum Nick Busick Passes Away

– Nick Busick, who is best known for his time in WWE as “Big Bully Busick,” has passed away. WWE announced on Tuesday that Busick passed away at the age of sixty-three. No details surrounding his passing were provided.

Busick began his career in the late 1970s as a successful run as a powerlifter while working as a police officer. He trained under Mike Paidousis for just a week and worked as an enhancement talent for the WWWF when they ran shows in Pittsburgh. We went on to transfer to the Atlanta Police Department in the early 1980s and, while working for North Georgia Wrestling Alliance, developed the gimmick for which he became famous of Big Bully Busick, with a handlebar mustache and bowler hat. Busick had memorable feuds in Atlanta with Abdullah the Butcher, Mr. Wrestling II and more before eventually signing with WWF in 1991.

During his WWE run, he continued using the Bully gimmick and would harass fans as well as the ring announcer. Managed by Harvey Whippleman, he was built up to a small feud with Brooklyn Brawler. He eventually left the company later that year when he realized that there were no major plans for him to be pushed as a star, wanting to spent more time at home with his kids. He would go on to make sporadic appearances for indy companies but was mostly finished with wrestling at that point, running a security company, and continued to compete in lifting competitions up until 2015.
