WWE Reportedly Lifts Blackout On WrestleMania Watch Parties In Las Vegas

WrestleMania watch parties in Las Vegas are once again a go, as WWE has reportedly lifted their planned blackout. As noted, it was reported last month that Las Vegas venues had been informed that they would be restricted from hosting watch parties. The blackout was reportedly for all venues within 50 miles of Allegiant Stadium, and a blackout took place for Elimination Chamber in Chicago.
Fightful Select reports that the ban has now been lifted. The site said there was positive momentum in the past week and that Circa Las Vegas’ Stadium Swim has revealed that the blackout has been done away with. This is a big shift from just a week ago when some venues had spoken to WWE and believed they would hold on the restriction.
The blackouts were intended to help boost ticket sales for the events but several casinos, hotels and more expressed frustration with the situation. Local city officials had also taken issue with the notion, and one source spoke on condition of anonymity to say that the point of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Board of Directors paying a site fee was to generate economic impact for the whole city as opposed to WWE and Allegiant Stadium.
WrestleMania 42 is set to take place on April 18th and 19th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will air live on ESPN Unlimited in the US and Netflix internationally.
