Reminder, I do not rate matches that are under three minutes long…

-Josh Matthews, Booker T and Michael Cole welcome us to the show, we’re in San Diego.

-Rey Mysterio makes his way to kick off the show. We see footage of Ray’s return to Raw on Monday. Mysterio soaks in the crowd reaction and states that it has been almost a year since he was injured in this very arena. He never lost hope and he is happy to be here with friends and family in his hometown. He couldn’t wait to come back and had to return on Raw, and since Del Rio was in the ring, it made his return sweet.

Del Rio now makes his way to the ring with Ricardo. Del Rio calls him a Chihuahua and says Mysterio never should have picked a fight with him. He then mentions that he almost ended Rey’s career, and he could finish the job right now. But instead, he will order Mysterio to leave the ring right now. Mysterio says no, and Del Rio says he did it all while Mysterio was gone, and now, Del Rio wants to address Sheamus. Mysterio reminds Del Rio that Sheamus kicked his ass at the PPV. Del Rio says he is glad he is back, because it will be a short return. Del Rio promises to end Mysterio, and then…

Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero make their way to the ring. Ziggler then says he is the next world champion, and mentions that he is not here for Mysterio, he is here for Del Rio. Ziggler says he won MITB, and he gets a world title match whenever he wants it. He was about to cash in last Sunday, and he would have been champion if it wasn’t for Del Rio. Del Rio says he doesn’t work for Ziggler, and won’t do his dirty work. Del Rio says that he could have Ziggler and his burro working for him. They look to fight and Rey attempts to egg them on, and Ziggler agrees. He and Del Rio back down Rey and…

Sheamus is out to even the odds. He and Rey shake hands, and Shamus says it is good to see Mysterio. And as for Ziggler and Del Rio, if they take one more step, he will take them out. They prepare to battle, and Del Rio bails. Sheamus levels Ziggler, Mysterio goes for a 619, but Ziggler bails.

-The main event will be Rey and Sheamus vs. Ziggler and Del Rio.

Hunico, Camacho and The Prime Time Players (O’Neil and Young) vs. Epico, Primo, R Truth and Kofi Kingston

Hunico and Epico start off. Arm drags by Epico, to the corner and rights by Hunico. A shoulder block follows, and then some lucha counters and Hunico slams Epico to the mat. Epico fires back, tags Primo in and a dropkick connects, and a cover for 2. Camacho tags in, but Primo takes him down and works the arm. To the corner they go and shoulder blocks to Primo. Roll up by Primo for 2. Tag by Truth and he dances and drops Camacho with a right. Dancing leg drop follows and Truth covers for 2. Camacho slams Truth to the corner, who then escapes and all eight men are in and we have the big brawl. The faces clear the ring and we head to a commercial @ 3:00.

Back from commercial @ 7:00 with Kofi tagging in. Corner splash to Canacho followed by a clothesline. BOOM leg drop follows and Kofi looks to end things, but Hunico grabs his leg. This allows Camacho to land a spinebuster for 2. Camacho works over Kofi in the corner, chokes him out and then slams Kofi down. Tag to Hunico, slingshot senton and a cover for 2. Kofi tries to battle back, O’Neil tags in and gets a side back breaker to Kofi. O’Neil chokes out Kofi, and then Kofi fights back only to be slammed to the mat again. O’Neil covers for 2. Abdominal stretch by O’Neil, clubbing shots follow. Tag to Young, but Kofi fights back and dumps O’Neil. Tag to Primo and he flies in and takes control of Young. Leg drop and then the elbow drop. He then slams Young to the corner, and then runs up the ropes for a twisting senton for 2. It breaks down again, bodies fly to the floor and Primo up top AW distracts Primo, O’Neil knocks him off the top rope into Young’s double knee gut buster and that is all.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Hunico, Camacho and The Prime Time Players (O’Neil and Young) @ 12:00 via pin
RATING: **½

-Big Show now comes to the ring. The Players and AW escape, but Show then takes out Kofi, Truth, Hunico, Camacho, Epico and Primo. The Players did take out Kofi, but Show laid waste to everyone else. Show grabs the mic and says, “And?…What?” Yup.

-CARTHEEL OF VICTORY by Sandow!

-And now it is time for the PEEP SHOW, hosted of course by Christian. After seeing video of the proposal, he brings out Daniel Bryan and AJ, who come out to YES chants from the crowd. Cole is all into this as Booker plays the skeptical one. We see a clip of Bryan and AJ shopping for the wedding, to the tune of Pachelbel’s Canon in D. Christian began questioning them. Christian asked Bryan if he was sure he was doing the right thing, and Bryan stated, “YES!” He asked AJ is she forgave Bryan for his past actions, and she states, “YES!” Christian asked them both if this was actually true love, and they stated together, “YES!” But the crowd disagrees, so Christian asks the crowd is they should get married, and of course they chant, “NO!” He asked about Bryan really loving AJ, and they chanted, “NO!” He asked if AJ had any clue what she was doing, and that led to AJ slapping Christian. Christian, stating that he is a married man himself, and will let that “Bridezilla slap” go. Christian then told Bryan that he obviously was so busy with wedding planning, that he forgot about his match tonight, against her psychotic ex-boyfriend, Kane.

Daniel Bryan w/AJ vs. Kane

Kane misses a clothesline, basement dropkick to the knee by Bryan. Kicks to the chest of Kane, but he comes back and tries for a chokeslam, countered and a corner dropkick by Bryan. Kick to the head of Kane, and Bryan covers for 2. Kane back with the side slam, and a cover for 2. Kane up top, leaps for the clothesline but Bryan locks the arm up on the way down for the YES lock. Kane powers out, charges Bryan, who pulls down the ropes and Kane crashes to the floor. Bryan checks on AJ, so Kane kicks him in the head. He then slams him to the steps, and then the barricade. Now Kane slams Bryan into the announcer’s table, and now back into the ring they go. AJ up top and leaps in onto Kane for the DQ.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Kane @ 5:00 via DQ
RATING: **

-Bryan attacks as AJ in on Kane’s back, but Kane manages to chokeslam Bryan anyway. AJ rips at the eyes of Kane, Kane swings her around, but she doesn’t kiss him, because she’s engaged people! Bryan and AJ escape further harm as Kane looks perplexed.

-Zack Ryder discusses WWE and social media, and the original, “GTV.”

-Heath Slater out for his weekly execution, including his video package from Monday. Slater says that stuff happened on Raw, but now he is on Smackdown. His luck is about to change, because he said it would. Here comes Road Warrior Animal.

Heath Slater vs. Road Warrior Animal

Clothesline by Animal to begin. Lays the boots to Slater in the corner, but Slater fights back with rights and then some elbows. Slater proclaims that he is the one-man band, but then runs into a powerslam. Elbow drop by Animal and that is all.

Sheamus and Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler

Sheamus follows Ziggler to the floor, tosses him back in and as Sheamus tries to enter the ring, Ziggler lands a dropkick and sends him back to the floor. Del Rio drops down and kicks him in the head, ad we head to a commercial @ 4:00.

Back from commercial @ 7:00 as Sheamus tries to fight back against Ziggler. Makes the tag to Rey, flies in with the Thez press. Head scissors follows. Rey counters a slam with a tornado DDT, and BOTH men are down. Tags to Del Rio and Sheamus. Sheamus cleans house for a bit, but then lams Del Rio into Ziggler. White Noise connects for Sheamus. Looks for the brogue kick, but Ricardo grabs him foot, and that will lead to the DQ.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Sheamus and Rey Mysterio @ 13:00 via DQ
RATING: ***

-After the match Del Rio gets the arm bar on Sheamus, and referees had to run down and break things up. Del Rio and Ricardo bail, and Ziggler contemplates cashing in since the arm bar had hurt Sheamus. So of course as he is about to hand over the case, he eats a 619 and the 973rd brogue kick of 2012. Sheamus and Rey stand tall.

-End scene.

WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT TONIGHT’s WWE SMACKDOWN?

NEW PODCASTS:
Thoughts From The Man Cave Reviews HBO’s The Wire (Season 1): All-around personality Mark Radulich joins the Man Cave to look back at one of the greatest TV shows in history, The Wire. Unlike in previous TV show review podcasts though, we couldn’t fit all the details of The Wire series into one podcast, so we’re looking back season-by-season. In this episode we’ll go through season one and give our thoughts on all the main plots including Jimmy McNulty’s quest for greatness, Stringer Bell’s quest for legitimate success, D’Angelo Barksdale’s quest to understand the game, Omar’s quest for revenge, and so much more. We’ll go into as many details as we can about the season and tell you why you should watch the show if you love smart television. You can listen to the show at this link.

Thoughts From The Man Cave Reviews HBO’s The Wire (Season 2): Great man Mark Radulich joins the Man Cave to continue our trek through The Wire. This episode we’ll go through season 2 and discussion everything that went wrong with the detail, the Sobotka’s, the Barksdale’s, and pretty much everyone who wasn’t Greek. Even though this was a transitional season, there is still plenty to talk about as a lot of what happens in season 2 sets up the rest of the series. You can check out that show at this link.

The 411 on Wrestling Post Raw Show: The 411 on Wrestling returned on Monday night, with hosts Larry Csonka and Andrew Critchell. The guys discuss the WWE Money in the Bank PPV, what has been working within TNA lately, the latest edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, the build to Raw 1,000, the good parts of the show and how the past booking is biting WWE in the ass. Plus once the wrestling talk is over, the guys discuss Big Brother 14. You can check out the full show at this link.

Thoughts From The Man Cave: Weekend MMA Review (Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy & UFC on FUEL TV 4) : Samer Kadi takes over the Man Cave to look back at UFC on Fuel 4 and Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy. We sing the praises of Chris Weidman (although don’t suggest him facing Anderson Silva) for his performance again Mark Munoz before barely talking about the rest of the card since it all felt pretty unimportant. Then we move on to even more unimportant events, which is reviewing a Strikeforce show. While there were some good performances, it’s just so hard to care about an organization that does everything wrong and will be dead by the end of the year. Plus Samer reviews my Taylor Swift karaoke performance, which is far more awesome than any fight that took place over the last week. You can listen to the show at this link.

Thoughts From The Man Cave: UFC 149 Preview: My partner as always Samer Kadi joins the Man Cave to put his reputation on the line as we preview UFC 149. Urijah Faber vs. Renan Barao is a fight that has been on Samer’s radar since it was announced and he’s 100% confident that Faber will stop the Barao bandwagon in its tracks. He’ll breakdown that fight with his usual expertise and I’ll rant about why it’s ok to pick Barao, as long as you’re doing it for the right reasons. Then we’ll preview the rest of the card, which is highlighted by us coming up with a new cheating tactic and nickname for Cheick Kongo. You can listen to the show at this link.
