Chris Jericho Reveals He Auditioned for Alex Riley’s Role of Steel Horse in GLOW, The Miz Also Failed to Receive Part After Auditioning for Series
– During a recent installment of Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast (via Sportskeeda), Chris Jericho revealed that he unsuccessfully auditioned for a role in Netflix’s wrestling-themed TV series, GLOW. Chavo Guerrero, Kimmy Gatewood, and Rebecca Johnson appeared on the episode. Guerrero works as the show’s wrestling coordinator and trainer. Gatewood and Johnson act in the show as the Beatdown Biddies.
For the series, Jericho revealed that he auditioned for the role of Steel Horse. The role was instead given to former WWE Superstar Alex Riley. Jericho said he auditioned for the role after a WWE event in Edmonton, Canada. He stated, “I didn’t get it, and not only did I not get it, Alex Riley got it, who’s about a one on the scale of wrestling notoriety.”
Guerrero also mentioned during the podcast that The Miz auditioned for a role in the series, but he was also passed over. He added that Riley got the role after taking his audition to a high level for coming out in a bathrobe and a full costume in order to earn the part.
The first season of GLOW is available on Netflix. The show has been renewed for a second season that’s due out later in 2018.
