Orange Cassidy Reflects On AEW’s Growth Since Its Launch
AEW has grown quite a bit since it launched in 2019, and Orange Cassidy recently discussed the company’s long road to where it is now. Cassidy spoke with Mike Jones for a new interview and talked about AEW’s evolution and the prodigious size of its roster.
“It’s been a very long five years if that makes any sense,” Cassidy said (per Wrestling Inc). “Especially going through the pandemic very early on in the company’s history, we were only like three months, four months, five months in, and then we had to shut down with the pandemic. Then we, coming back, we had like a little second honeymoon phase going back out on the road and stuff, and just getting that energy back.”
He continued, “The company has grown so much, I mean I don’t know how we could fit any more phenomenal wrestlers in this roster but somehow Tony [Khan] does it.”
Cassidy is part of the four-way AEW World Championship match at tomorrow night’s Worlds End PPV where he will battle Jon Moxley, Hangman Page, and Jay White for Moxley’s title.
