Former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay is set to return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) this April.

NJPW will present its annual Sakura Genesis event on April 4, 2026. Earlier today, Will Ospreay confirmed on social media that he will be in action at the event.

The Aerial Assassin will join United Empire’s HENARE and Great-O-Khan for a six-man tag team contest against Yuya Uemura, Taichi, and El Desperado.

Ospreay’s most recent appearance in NJPW came at New Year’s Dash 2026, where he promised Callum Newman that he would help the United Empire once he was medically cleared to return to the ring. However, Newman attempted to attack Ospreay from behind but was ultimately stopped by his stablemates.

Newman recently won the New Japan Cup, following which he took shots at Ospreay during the press conference. He is set to challenge Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Sakura Genesis.
