Pat McAfee Mentions AEW While Trolling Fans at WWE World

Pat McAfee used a countdown clock during WWE World to promote an upcoming reveal. However, this ultimately led to a live feed of The Pat McAfee Show. The commentator has aligned with Randy Orton in the lead-up to WrestleMania 42, where the latter is scheduled to face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

The countdown created speculation among viewers about a potential surprise appearance. However, when the timer expired, the reveal transitioned directly into McAfee’s own show, which led to massive boos from the crowd.

During the segment, Pat McAfee addressed the audience and referenced speculation about potential AEW debuts or roster additions (via Fightful).

“Surprise nerds! The surprise that you thought was maybe going to be your favorite wrestler of all time, maybe somebody from AEW was going to sign with WWE at WrestleMania, and you marks were gonna get zipper burn all over yourself. Instead, Pat McAfee is smarter than all of you dumb marks yet again!”

Following the reveal, McAfee continued to reference his support for Orton and the upcoming match. He noted he would be present at WrestleMania to support Orton.

“What me and Randy are about to do to your WrestleMania weekend is something you can’t prepare for, you can’t control, you’re going to be crying your ass off as you leave WrestleMania knowing that what was, what you all let happen, is over. Randy Orton is going to run this industry back to what it’s supposed to be out of your dumba** hands.”
