Sami Callihan’s time in TNA has come to an end, and a new report has details on what his role was there and how he was viewed backstage. As noted, Callihan confirmed a report on Wednesday that he has been let go from the company. He noted that he got a call and thought it would be to take over creative but instead was released.

According to Fightful Select, Callihan was well liked backstage with both staff and roster members confirming that he was popular as an agent and producer. Several people on the roster said that they had pushed for him to be added to creative for a number of months.

In addition to his work as an agent, Callihan had been working in the marketing department. Callihan designed and produced the majority of TNA’s merchandise over the past year and was part of the company’s resurgence in terms of merchandise.

Callihan was a part of the company as an in-ring performer from 2017 to 2023. He retired from the ring after that.

As noted, in addition to Sami Callihan, TNA released Tommy Dreamer who was the head of creative. Tessa Blanchard also secured her release from the company. The three exits come after Steve Maclin and Myla Grace had previously been granted their requested releases earlier this month.
