Former Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champion Matt Sydal is back on AEW television. This comes on the heels of PWInsider reporting earlier this week that there have been talks within the company about his return to weekly programming.
Tonight’s episode of AEW Collision featured a backstage segment involving SkyFlight members Christopher Daniels, Scorpio Sky, Dante Martin, and Darius Martin.
During the segment, Daniels said that he had good news to share. He said that one of his favorite tag team partners is finally back after a prolonged hiatus before introducing Matt Sydal.
Daniels promised that no matter what path Sydal opts to carve out for himself in AEW, SkyFlight would always have his back. Sydal admitted that this was the toughest recovery of his life, and now that he is finally back, he intends to take SkyFlight to never-before-seen heights.
Matt Sydal has been with All Elite Wrestling since 2020. His final appearance for the company ended in a loss to Konosuke Takeshita on the May 22, 2024, episode of Dynamite. Following that, he stepped from in-ring competition to undergo right foot surgery.
The 43-year-old made his return to the squared circle in July 2025, wrestling for a French indie promotion.
