Mercedes Mone has everyone talking again after teasing a possible future match with Bayley, even though the two stars are currently signed to different companies.
Mone is instead set to challenge for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In on August 30 at Wembley Stadium. She earned the opportunity after defeating Maya World at Forbidden Door to win her second straight Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament. Meanwhile, following the breakup of her team with Lyra Valkyria on Raw, Bayley appears to be heading into a new rivalry with her former partner.
The AEW star recently shared a fan-made WrestleDream 2026 match graphic on her Instagram Stories, representing her facing Bayley. The image promoted a fictional AEW WrestleDream showdown and referred to Bayley by her former independent wrestling name, “Davina Rose.” It also portrayed Mercedes Mone as the AEW Women’s World Champion, although she does not currently hold the title.

The two became close friends during their time together in WWE, where Mone competed as Sasha Banks. They shared several acclaimed singles matches, won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship together, and were central figures in WWE’s women’s division for years.
Bayley has previously said she would love to share the ring with Mone again someday. However, she has not expressed any intention of leaving WWE. Recent reports have stated that her current contract is expected to run through the end of 2026.
Although they now compete for different promotions, Mone and Bayley have continued to support each other publicly over the years. Bayley has attended AEW events to watch Mone wrestle, while Mone has also been spotted at WWE shows cheering on her longtime friend. As for WrestleDream, AEW has yet to announce a date or location for this year’s event.
