Conor McGregor Signs New Eight-Fight Deal With UFC

September 20, 2018 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Conor McGregor is set to fight with the UFC for a good while longer. McGregor has reportedly signed an eight-fight contract with the company, according to ESPN. The contract restructuring comes ahead of his fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though ESPN says that it includes his Proper No. 12 whiskey brand as a sponsor for every show that McGregor fights on. McGregor said at today’s news conference for UFC 229 that the brand will be an on-canvas sponsor for UFC 229. The deal does not include any boxing rights.

UFC 229 takes place on October 6th in Las Vegas, with the main card airing on PPV after prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. Dana White has touted the bout as the UFC’s biggest ever and has said that he believes the show will do over two million buys, which would be a record for the UFC.

UFC 229 will be McGregor’s first fight in the UFC since November 2016, when he beat Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.
