He’s not here to save the world. He’s just here to slay some goblins. Crunchyroll officially announced this week that the highly anticipated anime series, Goblin Slayer, will receive a simulcast streaming release on the service later this fall. The announcement was made during a Crunchyroll Industry Panel earlier this week at the Crunchyroll Expo.

The anime series is based on the light novel series of the same name created by Kumo Kagyu, which has also spawned a manga series and two spinoffs. The story is set in a fantasy world inspired by tabletop RPGs and follows a silver-ranked adventurer who is obsessed in his personal quest to slay goblins. In his world, goblins are one of the lowest levels of monsters, but they can still be quite dangerous.

The Goblin Slayer will be available to Crunchyroll members in the following territories: USA, Canada, South Africa, UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Netherlands, ANZ and Latin America. The show is directed by Takaharu Ozaki. Series composition is by Hideyuki Kurata and scripts written by Yosuke Kuroda. The animation is being produced by White Fox, the studio behind such shows as Re:Zero, Steins;Gate and Akame Ga Kill.

The show will feature the same Japanese voice cast as the drama CD adaptation:

Yuichiro Umehara as Goblin Slayer
Yui Ogura as Priestess
Nao Tōyama as High Elf Archer
Yuka Iguchi as Cow Girl
Maaya Uchida as Guild Girl
Yūichi Nakamura as Dwarf Shaman
Tomokazu Sugita as Lizard Priest
Yōko Hikasa as Witch
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Spearman

The Goblin Slayer anime is set to debut in October. You can check out an official synopsis and the latest preview for the series below.

“A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It’s the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue–a man who’s dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next…”
