1970s Star ‘Cowboy’ Bob Kelly Passes Away

– The Cauliflower Alley Club announced today that “Cowboy” Bob Kelly has passed away at the age of seventy-eight. Kelly got his start in professional wrestling as an announcer for Gulf Coast Championship Wrestling in 1959; before that he was a rodeo competitor and stock car racer. He eventually transitioned to wrestling and became the top babyface in the territory in 1967.

Kelly eventually became the promoter for the territory before he sold it to the Fullers in the late ’70s. He retired from the business and beecame a successful real estate agent with his wife Chris. Chris passed away last October. At the time of his passing, Kelly was serving on the board of the Cauliflower Alley Club.
