Hello Folx! We are at the Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla de Zaragoza, Puebla, for the 29th Rey de Reyes! Rey de Reyes was first held in 1997, and except for 2020, it has been an annual event. For those who don’t know, this is AAA’s version of the King of the Ring. Usually held under Four-Way Elimination matches. The winner of the tournament is given a large ornamental sword.

Along with the final of the Rey de Reyes, featuring La Parka, OG El Grande Americano, El Grande Americano, and Santos Escobar. We will also see the War Raiders take on Psycho Circus for the AAA World Tag Team Championships. Dragon Lee, TJP, and Jack Cartwheel will all try to take the AAA Cruiserweight Championship from Laredo Kid. Flammer will take on a mystery opponent from the main WWE Roster. And in the main event, Dominik Mysterio will defend his title and the right to stay in AAA against El Hijo del Vikingo in a No Disqualification match.

This match was a late entry, with Flammer laying down the challenge on last week’s episode of AAA. Because this challenge is for main roster talent, it eliminates women like Lola Vice or even Blake Monroe from the running.

But I do see someone else who could benefit from winning the Reina de Reinas Championship. Someone who has something to prove and has come up short lately. I’m talking about Raquel Rodriguez.

Rodriguez has been killing it lately, and with Liv Morgan busy with Stephanie Vaquer and Roxanne Perez recovering from surgery. Why not let Big Mami Cool end Flammer’s run and rule the AAA Women’s Division?

It will give her a chance to prove she has what it takes to lead a division. And it gives a boost to the AAA Women’s Division, who need some strong hands to build around. Plus, if Rodriguez wins here and Morgan loses at WrestleMania, it would just create more friction between them.

Winner and new AAA Reina de Reinas Champion: Raquel Rodriguez

AAA World Tag Team Championships
War Raiders vs. Psycho Circus (Psycho Clown & Pagano)

War Raiders won a Three-Way Tag Team match in February to earn this shot. I love the War Raiders. I am all for them getting chances to showcase their talent. But I don’t think they win here. Psycho Circus is having a great run, and I don’t think it’s time to end it.

I expect this match to be a hard-hitting affair, separating it from the rest of the card. Also, I won’t be surprised if Psycho Circus finds a way to add some hardcore elements to the match. I think this might be a sleeper hit. I’m not predicting five stars or anything, but it will be a fun big man brawl, with some high-impact moves mixed in.

Winner and still AAA World Tag Team Champions: Psycho Circus

Four-Way Match for the AAA Cruiserweight Championship
Dragon Lee vs. TJP vs Jack Cartwheel vs Laredo Kid

Laredo Kid has been the champion for 462 days. Which sounds like a long time, but his first run was 1,218 days! His first run was from February 2019 to June 2022, and was ended by Fenix. He started the current run in December of 2024 when he beat Matt Riddle for the title.

This will probably be the crazy spot-fest match of the night. All four of these guys are highly athletic and can pull off some insane stuff. I am glad to see Cartwheel getting more opportunities to showcase his talent. But I am biased, since he trained in my home promotion of SPW.

TJP was a surprise return for me, as I wasn’t sure he’d find his way back into the WWE fold. And Dragon Lee is Dragon Lee. I honestly feel like this is Lee’s match to win. He has had several great matches in AAA. And is finally receiving a decent push on Raw.

The only issue he may run into is a surprise Gunther appearance. I could see Gunther playing spoiler in an effort to further their feud. Which would make up for their being no appearance by either of them on Raw this week.

But if that’s the case, who does win? I feel like it might be time for Laredo Kid to move up the card. TJP seems to be there as a player/coach, so what the hell, let’s go with Jack Cartwheel!

Winner and new AAA Cruiserweight Champion: Jack Cartwheel

Four-Way Rey de Reyes Tournament Final
La Parka vs. “The Original” El Grande Americano vs El Grande Americano vs Santos Escobar

When the WWE convinced Santos Escobar to resign, there were rumors that he demanded to have a creative plan in place. And I think we are seeing that here. While we can make cases for the others. I think this will be Escobar’s match to win.

La Parka has been pushed heavily since the WWE bought AAA. Including getting a spot in this year’s Royal Rumble. I do think they have big plans for him, but I think he will be better off moving to the Latin American or Cruiserweight scene for now.

The Americanos will cancel each other out, especially with their planned match for Raw on Monday. It’s crazy how over El Grande Americano has become in AAA. And the OG is going to want to spoil that, even at the cost of his own victory here tonight.

So, again, we look at Satnos Escobar. This man has the talent, the look, and the charisma to lead AAA. And winning the 2026 Rey de Reyes is the beginning of that journey. I am predicting a win here, ultimately leading to Escobar winning the AAA Mega Championship at Triplemania.

Winner and the 2026 Rey de Reyes: Santos Escobar

No Disqualification AAA Mega Championship

If Dominik Mysterio wins, Vikingo cannot challenge for the title as long as Mysterio is champion. If Vikingo wins, Mysterio has to leave AAA

Mysterio and Vikingo have been feuding since last summer. Mysterio finally beat Vikingo at Worlds Collide in September, winning the title in the process. Vikingo earned this match by beating El Grande American at the end of January. The stipulations have been added over the last couple of months. If Mysterio loses, he has to leave AAA, and if Vikingo loses, he can’t challenge for the title as long as Mysterio is champion.

I was sold on Mysterio winning this tonight. Vikingo could use a break from AAA, and NXT could use a top name. So, if he lost here and couldn’t challenge for the title, he could do a stint in NXT before returning to a hopefully better reaction.

But then Monday night happened. With Finn leaving Judgement Day, and an obvious clash between Finn and Dominik on the horizon. I could see him interfering tonight and costing Dominik the title.

Though there could be more money in Dom retaining and Finn challenging him for the title at WrestleMania. It would give AAA a lot of exposure to have their top title defended at WrestleMania. I would agree that it would be better if AAA talent were involved in the match. This may be the best way to get it on the show.

And with that, I’ve argued myself into sticking witha  Mysterio win here. Vikingo can head to NXT to help out their main event scene and to hopefully repair his image in AAA. Dominik will be able to defend the title on the Grandest Stage of Them All. And while he does that, Escobar can be built up to be the next big challenger going into the summer.

Winner and still AAA Mega Champion: Dominik Mysterio
