411’s WWE Smackdown Report 02.29.08
Welcome everybody to the Smackdown Report. We’re just about a month away from WrestleMania and I’m pumped. With the way things are shaping up, I think this will be another great WrestleMania. Before we jump into the report, he is how the Smackdown Wrestler of the Year Competition works and at the bottom of the report, there will be an updated score.
1. The winner of each match will receive two points unless it is by count out or DQ in which they will receive one point.
2. The winner of a title match will receive an additional point for retaining and two additional points for winning a belt.
3. The winner of the main event will get an additional point.
4. The winner of a specialty match will get an additional point.
5. In a tag team match, a wrestler on the winning team that does not pick up the win will get one point. If the match ends in a DQ or a DRAW, both members of the winning team will get one point.
6. If the match ends in a draw, all wresters involved will get half a point for participating.
7. If it is an elimination match, each elimination is worth one point.
8. If the match is for example, a Best Two Out of Three Falls Match or an Iron Man Match, each fall is worth one point.
Smackdown is taped live in front of a wrestling audience this week in Tucson, Arizona!
Match #1: Big Show vs. Joey Ryan and Jay Garland
This is Big Show’s first match since losing to Bobby Lashley in 2006 I believe. He chops down both Ryan and Garland to start off. He rams one of the two into the corner and splashes him. He delivers the Chokeslam to him and goes after the other jobber. Show starts showing off his boxing skills by delivering some jabs and finishes him after a right hand.
Winner: Big Show via pin fall
Points: Big Show wins via pin fall (2 Points)
After the match, Show gets on the mic and talks about the rumors of Floyd Mayweather vs. Oscar de La Hoya II in September. Show says it is just a rumor because at WrestleMania, he is going to destroy Mayweather. He tells Mayweather that the $20,000,000 Mayweather is getting at WrestleMania to fight Show is not worth it.

Match #2: Deuce ‘N Domino w/Cherry vs. Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore
Domino and Yang start off. Domino hits the “We’re in HD so I’m taking off my shirt.” In actual action, Domino gets a headlock and drops Yang. He misses the elbow drop and Yang gets a headlock. Yang then gets an arm drag and a tag to Moore who hits a dropkick on Domino. Hurricanrana by Moore but he goes for a head scissors and Domino counters by throwing him out of the ring. Deuce rolls Moore back in to give Domino a one count. Tag to Deuce and he locks in a modified abdominal stretch. Moore breaks out of it but Deuce pounds away and locks in a chin lock. Moore tries to escape but Deuce slams him down by the hair. Deuce chokes Moore with the middle rope and tag Domino who also chokes Moore. Domino runs at Moore but gets caught up in the ropes. Tags to Yang and Deuce and Yang explodes on Deuce with kicks until Domino distracted him. Yang fights back and goes for the Moonsault on Deuce but Domino pulls Deuce out of the way. Domino goes to the top rope but Moore knocks him down. Deuce goes for a powerslam on Yang and Yang counters by landing on his feet. Yang runs to the top rope and hits the Moonsault on Deuce for the win.
Winners: Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore via pin fall on Deuce by Yang
Points: Yang wins via pin fall (2 Points)
Moore wins (1 Point)
Edge and Vicky Guerrero are in the back talking about their Honeymoon, in which Edge wants to go to God’s Country….Canada. They get interrupted by the Edgeheads. Edge informs them that Zack Ryder will face Undertaker tonight!

Match #3: Chuck Palumbo vs. Jamie Noble w/ Michelle McCool
Palumbo shoves Noble to start but Noble kicks and fires away on Palumbo until Palumbo drives Noble to the corner. Noble however, locks in an arm bar over the ropes and starts to work on the arm until Chuck sends him outside of the ring. Palumbo delivers a big clothesline to Noble and goes for the Full Throttle until McCool distracts him. Noble shoves Chuck into the turnbuckle and rolls him back in the ring. From there, Noble concentrates on the left arm. Noble goes to the top rope but Chuck goes up with him and nails a huge over the head top suplex to Noble for two. Chuck mounts Noble and delivers multiple shots and then picks him up for a backdrop in which Noble kicks out at two. Palumbo gets a side headlock and then takes Noble down with a shoulder block. He goes to nail Noble with a fall away slam but Noble counters it into an arm bar submission. Chuck gets to the ropes and then hits a huge punch to the face of Noble. Chuck nails a scoop slam but misses with a top rope leg drop. Noble gets some shots in and then an enziguri. Chuck is sitting in the corner and Noble runs at him and hits him with a rolling senton. Noble goes to the top rope and delivers a missile dropkick for two. Noble gets another arm bar but Palumbo scrapes Noble’s face over the top rope and hits a big boot. Full Throttle by Palumbo and it’s over.
Winner: Chuck Palumbo via pin fall
Points: Chuck wins via pin fall (2 Points)
In the back, Teddy Long, Maryse, and Vicky Guerrero are talking in the back. Maryse tells Vicky she is a great general manager and a beautiful woman. Batista interrupts and asks Vicky about the RAW vs. Smackdown Match at WrestleMania against Umaga. Batista wants to be the man to represent Smackdown and Vicky agrees.

WrestleMania is 30 Days Away! It is announced that John Legend will perform America the Beautiful at WrestleMania.
Match #4: Batista and Kane vs. Great Khali and WWE United States Champion MVP
Kane and Khali kick off the match. Khali kicks away at Kane in the corner. MVP tags himself in and pounds away on Kane. Kane comes right back and hits a back body drop followed by an elbow drop. Snap mare takedown and a dropkick from the Big Red Machine before tagging Batista. Batista hits some shoulder thrusts to MVP in the corner. MVP then eats a huge clothesline from Batista for two. Tag to Kane and he delivers the big boot for a one count. Michael Cole says all these men are still recovering from the Elimination Chamber. So Kane is still recovering from 2006? I miss JBL. Tag to Batista and he hits the spinebuster to MVP. He goes for the Batista Bomb but Khali pulls MVP out of it and we go to commercial.

We’re back with Khali and Batista staring each other down. They lock up and Khali shoves him down. Cole says Batista and Khali have battled in every match imaginable. Umm, Punjabi Prison and what else? I miss JBL. Khali shoves Batista out of the ring and hits a clothesline on him when he comes back in. Tag to MVP and he chokes Batista with his foot in the corner. Tag to Khali and he kicks away at Batista and delivers some elbows. He goes for the chop but Batista runs away and tags Kane who goes crazy on Khali with jabs and uppercuts until Khali nails him with a clothesline. Tag to MVP and Kane goes for the Chokeslam but Khali chops him. Tag to Khali and he chokes Kane. Khali keeps Kane in the corner and both Khali and MVP double team Kane. Tag to MVP and he goes to work on the ribs with some jabs until Kane hits some uppercuts. MVP gets back on top with a drop toehold and then locks in a side headlock. Kane gets out of the hold by slamming down Kane but MVP nails the facebuster to the knee and a modified shining wizard. Kane changes momentum however by nails a sidewalk slam to MVP. MVP gets up before Kane and tags Khali who nails a leg drop to Kane for a two count. Khali calls for the Khali Vice Grip but Kane GOOZLES him! Khali shoves Kane away though and nails the chop. Tag to MVP and he comes off the top rope but gets hit with a Kane uppercut. Tag to Batista and he destroys MVP in the corner. Clothesline and splashes by the Animal. Batista goes for the powerslam but MVP lands on his feet and tags Khali who hits a chop to Batista. Khali calls for the Khali Vice Grip but Batista blocks it and nails the Spinebuster! 1….2….MVP breaks it up! Kane gets rid of MVP. Khali goes to chokeslam Kane but Batista hits the Spear on Khali for the win!
Winners: Batista and Kane via pin fall on Great Khali by Batista

Justin Roberts introduces the 2007 Dive Search Winner, Eve Torres. She is out to announce the newest members of the 2008 Hall of Fame Class, Peter Maivia and Rocky Johnson! They will be introduced by The Rock.

Match #5: Jesse and Festus vs. WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison and Miz (non title)
Before the match, Miz gets on the mic and Miz says they have a surprise for them. Morrison grabs the mic and introduces everyone to their WWE.com segment “The Dirt Sheet”. It seems pretty lame. The bell rings and Festus takes out both men. He officially starts it off with Miz and he kicks Miz around the turnbuckles and takes out Morrison. Scoop slam to Miz and tag to Jesse who hit a top rope leg drop for two. Headlock by Jesse and then a shoulder block. Roll up to Miz for one and then Jesse takes out Morrison. Jesse chases Miz around the ring until Morrison hits a clothesline in Jesse. Miz rolls Jesse in the ring and tags in Morrison. He gets Jesse in the corner and tags Miz who hits the running splash. Tag to Morrison but Jesse out runs both men and tags Festus who over powers Morrison. Big boot to both Miz and Morrison and then a running double leg drop to Morrison. Jesse takes out Miz and Festus nails Morrison with the Flapjack Slam for the win.
Winners: Jesse and Festus via pin fall on John Morrison by Festus

Match #6: Balls Mahoney vs. Big Daddy V w/ Matt Striker
Daddy beats down on Balls and then nails a big clothesline. He chokes out Balls and then hits a sidewalk slam on Balls. Daddy gets Balls in the corner and delivers the Star Trek Chop and then hits a Samoan Drop. All of a sudden the lights go out and Undertaker comes down to the ring. Taker sends Daddy out of the ring with a big boot and then chokeslams Balls.
DRAW
Points: Balls for participating (.5 Point)
Daddy V (.5 Point)
Undertaker grabs the mic and says death waits for nobody. He tells Edge to bring out his minion so he can suffer the same fate Edge will at WrestleMania and they will both….REST…..IN…..PEACE!

Match #7: Undertaker vs. Zack Ryder w/ Curt Hawkins and WWE World Heavyweight Edge
Taker chases Ryder around the ring and gets distracted by Edge allowing Ryder to hit Taker with a baseball slide. He goes to the ring apron and leaps at Taker but he catches Ryder and drives him into the turnbuckle. Taker slams Ryder into the ring steps and rolls Ryder back in the ring. Taker drops the leg drop over Ruder who is hanging off the ring apron. Taker rolls into the ring and he beats down on Ryder. Taker literally throws Ryder into the turnbuckle and ropes. Taker throws Ryder over the top rope near Edge and Hawkins. He clubs away on Ryder and goes back in the ring. Ryder gets back on the ring apron and hangs Taker off the rope. He goes to the top rope but gets caught by Taker. Hawkins distracts the ref and Ryder nails the low blow on Taker. He kicks away on Taker and works on him in the corner. Taker shoves Ryder off him but Ryder nails him with an elbow to the face. He hits some shoulder thrusts to Taker in the corner until Taker shoves him back in the corner and strikes him down. Taker hits the running splash, snake eyes, and the running big boot. Leg drop to Ryder for two. Taker delivers the Chokeslam and finishes him with the Gogoplata.
Winner: Undertaker via submission
Points: Undertaker wins main event (3 Points)
After the match, Edge and Hawkins attack Undertaker until Taker takes out Hawkins and Edge runs away. Chokeslam to Hawkins and both Edgeheads are fallen. Taker locks in the Gogoplata on Hawkins and Hawkins bleeds all over the place as we go off the air.
Pretty good in ring action this week, but it seems like they need to be more in WrestleMania hype mode. Good thing they still have a couple more episodes to go. In the Smackdown Wrestler of the Year competition, Undertaker takes the #1 spot from an injured Rey Mysterio with his win over Zack Ryder. Batista and Jimmy Wang Yang make strong runs towards the top of the list and the Big Show and Balls Mahoney make their list debut.
