AEW Plans Reportedly Changed Due to Rey Fenix’s International Title Win
AEW reportedly had to undergo some creative plan changes due to Rey Fenix winning the International Championship on last week’s Dynamite. As previously reported, Fenix defeated Moxley on Dynamite: Grand Slam in a title change that was done has an audible after Moxley was hurt early on in the match. Moxley suggested to people after the match that he was okay.
According to Fightful Select, the title change caused changes to Dynamite and potentially WrestleDream. Originally a non-AEW talent, who has not been identified, was set to come out and challenge Moxley to a match at WrestleDream. Obviously that didn’t happen due to the fact that Moxley was no longer champion.
Several talent told the site that while they do like Rick Knox, there was a lot of heat on him in AEW for his handling of the match and allowing it to continue. It was specifically noted that this is not the first time that something like this has happened where a wrestler wasn’t properly protected.
Moxley was reportedly diagnosed with a low-grade/grade 1, or mild, concussion.
