PWInsider Elite (via WrestlingInc.com) has an update on the status of WWE broadcaster Wade Barrett. It was initially reported earlier this month that Barrett was “off the road” indefinitely, although a reason was not provided.
Barrett later clarified that he personally requested to take some time off from touring with WWE TV. On September 6, he wrote on social media, “I usually ignore BS reports like this, but it’s causing needless hate to be spewed towards people I work with. WWE have kindly given me a couple of weeks off for personal time (booked nine months ago), and then I’m back to business as usual. A complete non-story. The end.”
According to PWInsider Elite’s update on the WWE Status of Wade Barrett, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion is off the road at his own request. The report indicates that Barrett is expected to be gone for “several weeks.” Additionally, the report says that Barrett is still listed as part of the commentary team for WWE Wrestlepalooza, which takes places on Saturday, September 20 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
According to PWInsider Elite, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion is, in fact, away from WWE on his own request. There is no word on how long, other than that Barrett will be gone for “several weeks,” but he is listed on the commentary team for the upcoming WrestlePalooza.
