Bayley Reflects On ‘Full Circle’ Match With AJ Lee, Teases Goal For WrestleMania Match

Bayley got her wish to face AJ Lee again on this week’s episode of WWE Raw, and she spoke about the “full circle” moment of the match. Bayley challenged Lee for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on Monday’s show, a match Bayley had expressed interest in for a long time. Lee was able to retain the title before being attacked by Becky Lynch.
Bayley was a guest on this week’s Raw Recap and spoke with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant about the match. She recalled how Lee wore her shirt in her final Raw match at the time back in 2014 and how Monday’s match went full circle for her. She also spoke about how, while her hopes to defend the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania is scuttled, she and Lyra Valkyria are going to keep going and teased a match with the Kabuki Warriors. On Her Match With Lee Being Emotional:
“Yeah, I think leading up to it, it really was. I mean, who would’ve ever thought that we would’ve come this far? Like, I was just talking earlier how her last match on Raw she was wearing my ‘Hugger’ shirt. And I remember like, I had fallen asleep on the couch after a big day training at the PC and woke up to that, of her sitting on the ropes wearing my shirt. And that was her last match on Raw.
“And then to come literally like, full circle. I don’t think I ever thought we’d be standing in the ring together again.”
On Her WrestleMania Plans:
“All of that aside, what it really came down to was trying to get to WrestleMania. And maybe that’s not my path, or maybe that wasn’t my path. But according to my tag partner, we gotta find a new one. And I’m okay with that, because my tag partner is a little determined. You know, I think I got a little in her head. I think she’s understood how my brain operates. I think she knows how strong this heart is, and it doesn’t stop until we get what we deserve. And that’s WrestleMania, you know? Kairi and Asuka gonna find out soon!”
