Becky Lynch Says She’s a True Intercontinental Champion: ‘You Cannot Stop The Bex Express’

Becky Lynch is taking a page out of Lex Luger’s All American playbook from WWE, dubbing her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship reign the “Bex Express” on social media. The Raw star posted to Twitter on Monday to share her latest rant about her greatness as WWE came off its European tour.
Lynch shared her latest vlog of her Women Intercontinental Championship defense from last week’s Raw, writing:
“Intercontinental: in·ter·con·ti·nen·tal
extending among continents or carried on between continents
I am the definition of a TRUE Intercontinental Champion! From North America to Europe to Asia and back North America you cannot stop the BEX EXPRESS!
This CHAMPIONSHIP has been on an International tour and this VLOG is proof of that!!!”
The vlog features Lynch talking about her win over Maxxine Dupri and Natalya’s involvement, as well as her experiences over the last week on the European tour. Last week’s show saw Natalya turn on Maxxine Dupri, putting Lynch’s foot on the ropes during a pinfall attempt. The moment distracted Dupri and allowed Lynch to get the pinfall victory.
The “Bex Express” is an apparent callback to Lex Luger’s infamous “Lex Express,” which took place in 1993. The Lex Express was a road trip that Luger went on across the United States after shedding his Narcissist gimmick for a more patriotic role. He was feuding with Yokozuna en route to their match with SummerSlam 1993. The Lex Express was poorly-received and Luger failed to defeat Yokozuna for the WWE Championship, winning the match by Countout.
Lynch is next set to compete in the women’s Rumble match at the WWE Royal Rumble this weekend.
